Join the Conversation

The Lagos WellTech Summit 2026 invites global leaders, innovators, policymakers and investors to take part in a dialogue grounded in a real territory — exploring how health, well-being and longevity are shaped by the places where people live, work and age.

Hosted in Lagos, Portugal, the Summit positions the city not merely as a venue, but as a living territory for reflection and exchange on the evolving relationship between health, tourism and quality of life. Through a place-based lens, participants will explore how intelligent, sustainable territories can foster healthier lives across the lifespan.

From digital health and AI to mobility, airport connectivity and infrastructure for health travel, the Summit connects innovation with everyday realities — addressing international mobility, cross-border care, sustainable development and community resilience.

Together, we will reimagine how territories and communities can thrive in the era of longevity, translating global insight into place-based action.

HONORARY COMMITTEE

Themes in Dialogue

Where Health, Well-Being and Longevity Take Shape

Smart Territories for Health, Well-being & Longevity

As populations age and lifestyles evolve, regions must adapt. This topic explores how intelligent territories can foster healthy living and active ageing — integrating healthcare, well-being, and tourism into sustainable, future-ready ecosystems.

Cross-Border Care & International Mobility

Health no longer stops at the border. We'll explore emerging models for cross-border healthcare, medical travel, and mobile patient pathways — from regulation and reimbursement to quality standards and patient experience.

Digital Innovation & AI Across the Life Course

From predictive health to personalised medicine, digital tools and artificial intelligence are transforming how care is delivered, monitored, and improved. This theme focuses on ethical, scalable innovation that supports well-being from birth to later life.

Connectivity & Sustainable Health Travel Infrastructure

What does it take to enable safe, seamless, and sustainable health travel? We'll look at airport and transport connectivity, integrated planning, and the role of environmental and economic sustainability in building trusted health tourism routes.

Tourism, Territory & Community Resilience

With rising protests against mass tourism in cities like Barcelona, this topic addresses how health and wellness travel can avoid similar pitfalls. We’ll explore models that prioritise community well-being, avoid overburdening local infrastructure, and promote regenerative, inclusive tourism that benefits both residents and visitors.

Social Prescription & Community-Based Care

From nature walks to cultural engagement, social prescription is transforming how we approach prevention and mental health. This theme explores how linking individuals to non-clinical, community-based services enhances well-being and reduces pressure on health systems — especially in ageing societies.

Healthy Longevity & Active Ageing

Living longer must also mean living better. This topic focuses on how to create ecosystems that support physical, mental, and emotional health into older age — through smart environments, lifelong learning, and accessible services that support autonomy and dignity.

Ensuring healthy longevity also involves proactive immunisation strategies are critical in reducing hospitalisations, maintaining autonomy, and supporting resilient ageing populations.

Therapeutic Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine

Discover how food becomes medicine. As healthcare shifts toward prevention and personalization, nutrition emerges as a foundational pillar of healthy ageing and well-being.

This theme explores how personalized nutrition, culinary wellness, and lifestyle strategies can prevent chronic disease, support healthy ageing, and enhance well-being across tourism, healthcare, and community life.

PRELIMINARY AGENDA

March 10th – Tuesday

Day 0 — Building trust before dialogue

18.00 | Welcome Cocktail

The Summit begins informally, bringing together speakers and partners before formal sessions begin.
Because meaningful collaboration begins with human connection.

March 11th – Wednesday

Day 1 | Territories that Heal
Global Health, Longevity & Communities

Morning — Living Longer and Better: Chronicity & Integrated Care

The first morning focuses on how people live with chronic conditions and how care is organised across territories and communities.

Opening keynotes connect longevity science, prevention and public policy, framing health as a life‑course challenge rather than an age‑based issue.
A dedicated session on Global Health and Health Diplomacy positions Lagos within international flows of cooperation, mobility, climate and health systems transformation.

Morning panels explore:

  • integrated and community‑based care,
  • chronic disease and multimorbidity,
  • continuity of care close to where people live,
  • dignity, prevention, and long‑term wellbeing.
The emphasis is not on ideal models, but on how care actually happens in real territories, across health services, communities and daily life.

Afternoon — Place, Wellbeing & Human Experience

The afternoon shifts to the relationship between place, wellbeing, and experience, highlighting how territories can actively support healthier, more meaningful lives.

Key dialogues and panels address:

  • well-being and longevity as drivers of social, economic and environmental transformation,
  • hospitality, design and human‑centred environments,
  • nature‑based health, water, thermalism and sensory experience.
The day closes outdoors with a sunset networking experience, reminding us that:

Living longer only matters if we live better — physically, mentally and socially.

Evening — Longevity as a Societal Conversation
At the official Summit Dinner, leaders and international guests reflect on:
“How to live 100 years with quality — community, territory and health.”

March 12th – Thursday

Day 2  | World Kidney Day
Prevention, Radical Health & the Future of Health Systems

Morning — People, Territories & Prevention
Day 2 begins with a clear focus on prevention and real‑world health, asking how systems, cities and communities can act earlier and more effectively.

Keynotes and dialogues explore Radical Health, prevention across the life‑course and the role of territories in reducing avoidable disease.
Panels and sessions address:
  • prevention‑focused health systems,
  • age‑friendly and inclusive cities,
  • chronic disease avoidance and vaccination,
  • public health, primary care and community resilience.
Parallel workshops focus on:
  • evidence‑based urban design and healthy cities,
  • neuroarchitecture and emotional cities,
  • women’s health and FemTech.
Innovation here is applied, human and place‑based.

Afternoon — Digital, Work, Nutrition & Communities
The afternoon moves from systems to everyday life.
Sessions explore:
  • digital health in real contexts,
  • interoperability, data and continuity of care,
  • workforce wellbeing, burnout and organisational health as core infrastructures for resilient systems,
  • therapeutic nutrition, lifestyle medicine and social prescribing,
  • community networks and prevention in daily life.
Health is addressed not only as a clinical issue but also as a social, organisational, and territorial responsibility.

From Dialogue to Legacy — Health Innovation Valley
The Summit concludes by looking forward.

The Algarve Health Innovation Valley is presented as a living lab where ideas discussed during the Summit can be explored, tested and developed over time — connecting science, policy, innovation and territory.

Final reflections reinforce a shared message:
The future of health and wellbeing will be built through prevention, resilient systems, strong communities and territories that heal.
